Echinacea purpurea 'Magnus' 2L Pot

Echinacea purpurea 'Magnus' is a variety of purple coneflower which produces larger flowers (up to 10cm wide), with petals growing horizontally outward from the central cone. This deciduous plant is clump forming and develops long stalks on which the large deep-pink daisy-like flowers sit. The leaves are narrow and ovate. 

Typically, Coneflowers have a central yellow-green cone around which the petals emerge, but in the case of Echinacea 'Magnus' the center disc or cone is a much darker orange-brown colour.

Echincaea 'Magnus' grows best in well-drained, fertile soil in full sun but can tolerate a little shade also. It is very attractive to bees and butterflies as well as other pollinating insects and the flowers are long-lasting. Being a perennial plant, it will come back each year.

In order to prolong blooming even into autumn, once individual flowers have faded, cut back the stems.
