Hornbeam multi-stem roof form trees have mid to dark-green veined  foliage and well-defined serrated leaves. These trees are perfect for providing natural shade for seating areas and paths due to their wide overhead canopy, which is trained across a horizontal framework rather than vertical as used for traditional pleached trees.

To create a multi-stem tree, when young, the single stem is pruned and expertly trained to encourage multi-stem growth from a single root. Each stem is of equal / similar strength and provides an even spread of support for the large roof canopy, created by the trained foliage.
